This package defaults to the standalone behavior of ProFTPD, but all the needed scripts to have it run by xinetd instead are included.

Description:
According to the Test::More documentation, it is recommended to run use_ok() inside a BEGIN block, so functions are exported at compile-time and prototypes are properly honored. However, people often either forget to add "BEGIN", or mistakenly group "use_ok" with other tests in a single "BEGIN" block, which can create subtle differences in execution order. With this module, simply change all "use_ok" in test scripts to "use ok", and they will be executed at "BEGIN" time. The explicit space after "use" makes it clear that this is a single compile-time action.

Calling Perl's in-built 'system()' function is easy, determining if it was successful is _hard_. Let's face it, '$?' isn't the nicest variable in the world to play with, and even if you _do_ check it, producing a well-formatted error string takes a lot of work. 'IPC::System::Simple' takes the hard work out of calling external commands. In fact, if you want to be really lazy, you can just write: use IPC::System::Simple qw(system); and all of your "system" commands will either succeed (run to completion and return a zero exit value), or die with rich diagnostic messages.

Description:
A patch to Perl 5.005_55 by the author implements a core API for weak references. This module is a Perl-level interface to that API, allowing weak references to be created in Perl. A weak reference is just like an ordinary Perl reference except that it isn't included in the reference count of the thing referred to. This means that once all references to a particular piece of data are weak, the piece of data is freed and all the weak references are set to undef. This is particularly useful for implementing circular data structures without memory leaks or caches of objects.

Description:
diff() provides a basic set of services akin to the GNU diff utility. It is not anywhere near as feature complete as GNU diff, but it is better integrated with Perl and available on all platforms. It is often faster than shelling out to a system's diff executable for small files, and generally slower on larger files. Relies on Algorithm::Diff for, well, the algorithm. This may not produce the same exact diff as a system's local diff executable, but it will be a valid diff and comprehensible by patch. We haven't seen any differences between Algorithm::Diff's logic and GNU diff's, but we have not examined them to make sure they are indeed identical.
